local fishermen picked up life raft containing 11 crews of sank ship off West Papua waters, Indonesia.

The vessel “LCT MARUNI PRATAMA, IMO-8678554,” loaded with sand and cement sank early in the morning November 10 in Manokwari Regency waters, northeast of West Papua, Indonesia.

As reported, 11 crew was onboard the ship routing from Manokwari to Teluk Wondama Regency, south of Manokwari, but was caught in rough seas, started taking on water, and sank about 0400 hours.

According to the officers on board, all crews were evaluated to life raft which was later picked up by fisherman boat of the same morning.

The real cause of water ingress was not explained at the time of this report. But was suspected to have listed because of water in contact with sand onboard.
