Considering the first point above, the best location to target when purchasing cruising ticket is the lowest passenger deck in the middle of that deck, otherwise the mid ship from top to bottom and bow to stern.
Having said that, some passengers do consider staying at the Aft (back side) that is awesome, my advice is to stay away from the bow if you haven’t been onboard before.
There are utilities which attract more people, creating unnecessary noises. Those areas are such as a gym, kitchen, swimming pool, etc. In this case, while considering the above-recommended location, make sure to consider if the stateroom is above or below kitchens, laundry rooms, dining rooms, gym, swimming pool deck or open decks, doors for staff, elevators and stairwells including any other area that can cause noise.
