The 2018 annual day of the seafarers is around the corner. Here are events which we plan in support to all seafarers worldwide.

IMO 70: Our Heritage – Better Shipping for a Better Future

As the shipping industry advance so we that work in the industry also have to advance. For our readers who don’t know what 25th June is all about and when it commenced. Lets me use this opportunity to remind you.

In 2010 convention hold in Manila, Philippines capital, the International Maritime Organization (IMO), decided to designate June 25th as the International Day of the Seafarer as a way to recognize that almost everything that we use in our daily lives has been directly or indirectly affected by sea transport.

According to the IMO ” The above resolution ‘encourages Governments, shipping organizations, companies, ship-owners and all other parties concerned to duly and appropriately promote the Day of the Seafarer and take action to celebrate it meaningfully”

Furthermore, The day main objective is to give thanks to seafarers for their contribution to the world economy and the civil society, also for the risks and personal costs they bear while on their jobs at sea.

 

Keeping to the  day of seafarers resolution

 

To keep to this resolution, IMO took to their official page and social media such as  Twitter and Facebook in 2011,2012 etc, calling on the general public for their support for seafarers and to thank them for their splendid works. Base on this call, we also contribute to voice out about this amazing day mapped out for our humble, lovely and fearless men and women at sea.

We at Marine and Offshore Insight team are to mark this year seafarers day by offering a job post which we will share and/or sponsored by us, across maritime shipping companies and social media.

This is to give our support about the major problems facing seamen and women in teams of jobs search. Also will call on all maritime companies, owners, ex-seafarers, friends, and well-wishers to give their maximum support to these men and women who took the risk upon them to support the world economy.
