Cyber-Logitec and BNCT agree to deploy AI-based safety monitoring system at Busan New Port

Cyber-Logitec has signed an agreement with BNCT, the operator of Busan New Port Terminal 5, to deploy an AI-based port safety monitoring and control system designed to reduce collision risks between mobile equipment and personnel during terminal operations, the company said on Jan. 6, 2026.  The project is intended to strengthen preventive safety management by continuously monitoring operational risks in real time and enabling intervention before incidents occur.

According to the companies, the initiative reflects a broader industry shift as ports become larger, more automated and operationally complex, increasing the need for systems that can identify risks in advance rather than respond after accidents.

BNCT has been reviewing alternatives to incident-driven safety practices as part of efforts to improve on-site safety standards. The company decided to adopt CyberLogitec’s solution following what it described as an industry-wide reassessment of safety management after a series of serious accidents at port terminals in Korea and abroad in recent years.

Cyber-Logitec’s platform integrates AI-based video analytics, high-precision positioning technology and digital twin capabilities to provide real-time situational awareness across the terminal. Data from mobile equipment, workers and traffic flows are consolidated into a single monitoring environment, enabling early detection of potential hazards and immediate alerts via control room dashboards and on-board terminals.
